Watts-Healy Tibbitts Awarded Contract

Watts-Healy Tibbitts, (joint venture), Honolulu, Hawaii, is being awarded an $84.8m firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a submarine drive-in magnetic silencing facility at Beckoning Point, Naval Station, Pearl Harbor. The contract is incrementally funded with the first increment of $42.4m being allocated at the time of award. The second increment will be funded in FY 09 at $35.8m. An additional third increment will be funded in FY 10 at $6.5m. The contract also contains one unexercised option, which if exercised would increase cumulative contract value to $86m. Work will be performed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and is expected to be completed by Oct. 2010. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 41 offers solicited and four proposals received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Pacific, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, is the contracting activity (N62742-08-C-1311).
